Friday 5:

When was the last time you...

1. ...went to the doctor?

...this is lovely: about a year ago for a mole on my back...worried that it was cancerous, turns
out it was just fine...also for a repeat prescription for my nagging "rosacea" on my forehead...oh
well, could be worse, right?

2. ...went to the dentist?

Just a week ago for me. No cavities, as usual. Gotta floss more, who doesn't? (plus I've only
had four lifetime!...eat your hearts out, beeeatches!)

3. ...filled your gas tank?

Wednesday noon, on my return from the Science Museum in Boston, with Aaron and my mom. Nice
little visit in Portland, and "had to" pick up a few seegars at "Joe's Smoke Shop." mmmm...

4. ...got enough sleep?

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. ...backed up your computer?

Oooops! Keep saying I'm gonna do dat! Been a couple months. That's $#%%ed up!

I like the old Friday Five better that Daddy-O posted:

1. If you could eat dinner with and "get to know" one famous person (living or dead), who would you choose?

That's a tough one. I think there are a lot of famous people that it would be interesting to get a little inside
perspective on. I always thought I'd hit it off with Julia Roberts, I think that would be fun (Paddy will hate that
one), which reminds me of Letterman, he too might be interesting. Always wondered about meeting some famous
musicians: Wes Montgomery comes to mind. Fabulous guitarist. And Birelli Lagrene. Then we move to people
with possibly more global importance: Leonardo DaVinci seems promising!

2. Has the death of a famous person ever had an effect on you? Who was it and how did you feel?

I was in tears when I heard that Frank Zappa died. He was an incredible musician, composer, diplomat, and comedian.
He was very influential in my musical upbringing, both in his comedy and his straight ahead musical genius. He did
seem like an interesting and intelligent man, worth spending some quality time with. Hell, he should be the answer to
question #1!

3. If you could BE a famous person for 24 hours, who would you choose?

I think Johnny Depp might be fun! You could basically go anywhere, do anything, probably free. Maybe
Hugh Hefner???????

4. Do people ever tell you that you look like someone famous?

No, but I've been told I look like John Denver! Especially long ago when I had the old "bowl cut" and pilots glasses! Boy I hated that!!

5. Have you ever met anyone famous?

Well, I see John Travolta almost every year for New Years along with his most beautiful wife Kelly Preston, and there I also met Sally Kellerman, Kirsty Alley, Parker Stevenson, and Jack Bannon (played Art Donovan from Lou Grant fame), I've met many musicians: Kenny Burrell, Jim Hall, Peggy Lee (kissed me...'bout age 5), Stephanie Mills (whilst in "The Wiz" on Broadway), Scott Henderson (and his compatriots, like Kirk Covington-drums .... so many drummers, so little time...), Bela Fleck, Victor Wooten, Howard Levy, Future Man, and whilst in the Air Force, members of Cheap Trick (Rick Nielson, Bun E. Carlos, and Robin Zander), Pablo Cruise (Dave Jenkins-guitar), Le Roux (Leon Medica-bass...great guy!), Patrick Simmons of the Doobie Brothers, and Kansas' (Rich Williams-guitar...bargained a baseball hat for him in the Philippines, Phil Ehart-drums...he set up the USO tour due to his dad's Air Force service, and John Elefante-vocals). I also have autographs from Robben Ford, J. Geils and Magic Dick, John Scofield, Tuck and Patti, Ronnie Earl, and from Kings X, Ty Tabor. There's probably more, but that's all I can think of now...

Hey, I even met Sky King!!
